About Take The Wheel RC
Take The Wheel RC began in 2026 as a small Earth Day elementary school project with my two sons. What started as a simple idea— ”upcycling” recyclable materials and repurposing items destined for the landfill, combined with our shared love of dioramas and remote-controlled cars—quickly grew into something much bigger: a hands-on business built around creativity, sustainability, and fun.
From the beginning, the goal was simple: build something exciting without wasting materials—and prove that “junk” can become something incredible.
Creative Reuse
Today, approximately 90% of the materials used in our race tracks and crawler course terrain are recycled or repurposed materials. Cardboard, wood scraps, foam, packaging materials, and forgotten odds-and-ends are transformed into detailed environments designed for RC adventure.
As the courses evolved, so did the challenge. We spent countless hours designing, testing, racing, and refining layouts for our 1:30, 1:24 and 1:76 scale RC vehicles. We were able to turn our large indoor tracks into compact, mobile courses that still deliver the same depth, challenge, realism, and fun.
More Than Just RC Toys
With a background in Automotive Technology, Business Administration, combined with 10 years of experience in Educational IT, and a long-standing interest in electronics and devices, I’ve always enjoyed breaking down how things work and teaching that process to others—especially my kids. Helping them understand and build computers , work with tools, and learn how devices function naturally evolved into building, modifying, and experimenting with their favorite devices… remote controlled cars!
The combination of technical background and hands-on teaching became the foundation for expanding Take The Wheel RC beyond just building sustainable race tracks and having fun. It turned into an opportunity to teach others in a fun, approachable way—using RC cars as a gateway into problem-solving, mechanics, and real-world STEM concepts.
Whether it’s technical rock crawling, freestyle monster truck fun, or head-to-head racing, we’re always looking for new ways to keep the creativity—and the action—rolling!
